Badges

Gamification is one of popular social media trends, we have developed a line of plugins which brings game play elements into SocialEngine. Badges is one of the key features of game play and rewarding in social networking.

Badges plugin encourages members to do various activity, frequently interact with each other and compete with friends in your social network. It is a simple and fun way to increase interaction and reward your members with badges. You can create various badges and define terms to get them – post 25 blog posts and 50 photos to get Top Poster badge, upload 50 music tracks to get Music lover badge, etc.

Badges plugin works perfectly together with Credits plugin. You can reward members and give Rank-Badges to them for earning more credits – earn 100 credits to get Junior Rank, earn 250 credits to get Senior Rank, etc.

Also badges are seamlessly integrated with Pages plugin and allows to assign badges to pages and categorize and search them by badges. You can categorize public pages by badges – For Families, No-Smoking or User Choice locations.

Members Badges:

• Profile Badges. Badges are given to members for their activity. You can create various badges and define terms to get them – post 25 blog posts and 50 photos to get Top Poster badge, upload 50 music tracks to get Music lover badge, etc. Received badges are displayed on Member Profile page and on all thumbnails of the member. The member is allowed to enable and disable received badges, view next badges with completeness loader.
• Badges Home page where your members can browse available and new badges, view friends badges and badges which are recently given to members, and of course, check own badges and current statistics. It is a widgetized page and can be easily edited via standard Layout Editor in admin panel.
• Badge Profile page provides detailed information about the badge: photo, short and detailed description, requirements, completion-loader and members who received this badge. It is a widgetized page and can be easily edited via standard Layout Editor in admin panel.
• Widgets. Badges plugin provides a lot of useful widgets:
  ● About me displays the member statistics for various actions: posted photos count, comments count, etc;
  ● My Badges widget;
  ● My Next Badges widget displays list of badges which can be get by the member;
  ● Friends Badges widget;
  ● Best Members widget displays members who have most number of badges;
  ● Last Members widget displays members who recently received badges;
  ● Popular Badges widget;
  ● Recent Badges widget;
  ● Member Profile: Badges tabbed-widget displays the member’s badges with details;
  ● Member Profile: Badges Icons widget displays the member’s badges icons;
• Administration. Badges management consists from the following sections:
  ● Create a new badge. Badges plugin already has a wide range of badges with requirements but you are free to add more, it requires the following details: title, short and detailed description, small and main icon, and requirements list(like number of friends, referrals, photos, etc);
  ● Manage Badges section where you can enable, disable, edit and delete badges;
  ● Manage Members Badges section where you can browse members and edit their badges(remove and assign);
  ● Global Settings section where you can control if the badges icons should be displayed on members thumbnails, and if members are allowed to approve received badges;

Pages Badges:

Badges are seamlessly integrated and empower features set of Pages plugin. So if you have Pages plugin then you can enjoy with the following features:

• Badges. The plugin is pre-filled with a list of page-badges but you can add more badges. Page owners request badges for their page and you can approve or decline their requests. As soon as page receives a badge, it is shown on Page Profile and added to Browse Pages section where the page can be found by badge-categorization. Badges makes search of pages more attractive and even fulfill pages with more peculiarities, like: No-Smoking locations, For-Families, etc.
• Request Badges. It provides a special section in Page Dashboard where page owner can request badges. It allows to include a message(explanation) in badge request which will be sent to site admin. Owner can view status of his requests and cancel them at any time. Also he has all permissions to activate or deactivate received badges.
• Browse Pages by Badges. You can put a special widget on Browse Pages and allow visitors to view the number of page for each badge and filter pages by badges. It loads page via AJAX without any time-consuming page loads.
• Widgets. Badges plugin provides widgets as for site layout and separately for page owners:
  ● Page: Badges Filter widget displays list of badges which allows to filter pages by badges, it is a widget for site layout;
  ● Badges tabbed-widget displays list of the page badges with details in a tab, it is available in Page Layout;
  ● Badges Icons widget displays badge icons of the page, it is available in Page Layout;
• Administration. It provides the following sections for site admin:
  ● Create a new badge. Badges plugin already has a wide range of badges but you are free to add more, it requires the following details: title, short and detailed description, small and main icon;
  ● Manage Badges section where you can enable, disable, edit and delete badges;
  ● Manage Pages Badges section where you can browse pages and edit their badges(remove and assign);

Credits plugin increases interaction on your site by allowing members to earn credits for their activity and to get rewarded with gifts, real goods, coupons and badges. Together these two plugins empowers social game play on your site. If you have Credits plugin then you can enjoy with the following features:

• Badges(Ranks). The plugin is pre-filled with a list of badges(ranks) but you can add more badges. Badges are given to members depending on number of earned credits. You can set the number of required credits for each badge and it encourages members to actively use your social network to get new badges.
• Widgets. Badges plugin provides a lot of useful widgets:
  ● Ranks widget displays list of available ranks for credits;
  ● My Ranks widget displays the member’s rank and completeness loader to the next rank;
• Administration. It provides the following sections for site admin:
  ● Create a new rank. The plugin already has a wide range of badges but you are free to add more, it requires the following details: title, short and detailed description, small and main icon, and the number of credits which members should reach to get this badge;
