A Mission-Driven Startup Needed a Platform Equal to Its Ambitions

LifeSherpa set out to solve something genuinely hard: using technology to help people — especially those with behavioral and developmental challenges — build better habits, stay accountable, and reach their goals. No Platform — Just an MVP

LifeSherpa started with a basic mobile app and Firebase backend. It lacked the architecture to handle growing complexity, multiple clients, or enterprise security requirements.

Rebuilt the Architecture to Support Scale — Before LifeSherpa Needed It

Rather than patching the existing MVP, Pragma led a thorough architectural review and designed a new database and permission system from the ground up. Strict customer data separation was enforced at the schema level — not bolted on later — meaning LifeSherpa could onboard enterprise clients with confidence that their data was completely isolated. This proactive investment prevented the costly and disruptive re-platforming that many fast-growing SaaS companies face.

Operational Efficiency

The "Configurator" — Giving Admins Power Without Engineering Support

We built a full-featured administrative dashboard that lets LifeSherpa's team and their customers manage users, create training activities, assign courses, configure rewards, and track progress — all without touching code. This reduced reliance on engineering for routine operations, cut support overhead, and gave LifeSherpa a self-service product they could demo confidently to enterprise buyers.

Auth0 + Azure AD SSO — Removed the #1 Blocker to Enterprise Sales

Enterprise clients won't onboard without SSO. LifeSherpa was losing or delaying deals because Firebase Authentication alone couldn't meet enterprise security standards. We researched and implemented Auth0 — migrating all existing users seamlessly without disruption — then added Azure AD SSO support with minimal required permissions. The result: LifeSherpa could now close enterprise deals that were previously out of reach.

Data-Driven Growth

A Self-Healing BI System That Turns Activity Data Into Business Intelligence

We built an end-to-end data pipeline: Firebase → MySQL → Zoho Analytics, with real-time incremental sync, automatic error recovery, and per-customer isolated dashboards. Every new LifeSherpa customer gets their own reporting workspace cloned from a reference template — meaning LifeSherpa can onboard clients with working dashboards from day one. Administrators can track user progress, spot engagement drops, and prove the platform's impact. This BI capability became a key differentiator in enterprise sales conversations.

Market Expansion

The LS Portal — Opening LifeSherpa to Users Who Don't Use Mobile

We recognized that instructors, case workers, and administrators needed to manage complex workflows on full-size screens — not phones. We built the LS Portal, a full web version of the mobile app, giving users real-time client status views, chat and video calling, and rich activity charts — all in a browser. This expanded LifeSherpa's addressable market and dramatically improved the experience for the professionals who drive platform adoption.

Serverless API — Cut Mobile Development Time in Half

When LifeSherpa's iOS and Android teams had to implement every new feature independently — duplicating logic across two codebases — development was slow and bugs were frequent. We designed and built a serverless API in Node.js using Firebase Functions, centralizing business logic in one place. Both mobile apps now call the same API, eliminating duplication. Feature development accelerated, and the coordinated QA process we ran with the Romania-based mobile team ensured releases were stable.

User Engagement

Google Calendar-Style Scheduling — Because Habit Formation Requires Precision

LifeSherpa's effectiveness depends on activities reaching users at exactly the right time. Basic cron-based scheduling wasn't flexible enough. We built an RRule-based scheduling engine — the same standard used by Google Calendar — giving administrators fine-grained control over recurring activity schedules, including user-specific customizations. More precise reminders mean better completion rates, which means better outcomes for LifeSherpa's clients and stronger renewal conversations.

Customer Stickiness

Custom Integrations + LMS — Making LifeSherpa Indispensable to Enterprise Clients

Enterprise customers don't want another siloed tool — they want a platform that fits into their existing workflows. We built custom integrations for LifeSherpa customers who needed to connect their own data sources to the BI platform, and integrated TalentLMS with full SSO to support advanced course delivery. Every integration deepened the relationship with that customer, increased switching costs, and gave LifeSherpa additional value to justify premium pricing.
