SocialEngine Group Announcement Plugin is an extension of the SocialEngine Group plugin. This plugin allows a group owner to create announcements on home page of all members.
About Group Announcement Plugin
Inform your group members when you have an announcement for them. The SocialEngine Group Announcement allows you to add announcement notices which can display automatically for group members who have not yet viewed that announcement. This plugin allows a group owner to create/enable/disable announcements for a specific group. It helps the group owner regarding promotion and easy communication with all community members as well as guests. Admin can also place this widget on other places and can display announcements for muliple groups at a same area. Super Admin also has the choice to set the limit for number of announcements that should be displayed on the widget.
This plugin also helps to increase the activity of your community users and encourage new users to join the community. The group announcements shall be visible to non-login users and they can view what’s going on with the different groups.

1. Group Announcements Plugin Installation
Plugin installation will function very similarly to the SocialEngine upgrade process.
- Log into your SocialEngine 4 site and access the Admin area.
- Access the Manage menu and click on Packages & Plugins.
- Click on the Install New Packages link, then on theAdd Packages link.
- Select the modules-Groupannouncement-xxx.tar file where you extracted the downloaded zip package.
- Make sure that Group module has been installed.
- Follow the step-by-step wizard to complete the installation of the plugin files.
2. Initial Configuration
- Go to admin ->layout->layout Editor and select the desired page for showing Group Announcements widget.
- Go to widget section.
- Drag and Drop the Group Announcements widget on desired page like Member Home page or Group profile page.
- Go to admin -> Plugins -> Group Announcements.
- Fill the desired number for announcements to be dispalyed in Group Announcements widget.
3. Post Announcements
- Go to Groups -> Click on edit icon -> Post New Announcement.
